Youth and gender equality

There are well over 1.8 billion young people aged 10 to 24 in the world – the largest population of young people of all time. Among these, 600 million are adolescent girls and young women.

Around the world, young women continue to deal with sex, marginalization and violence discrimination, including unequal access to education and leadership and participation opportunities.

The new 2030 for sustainable development program must provide equal gains to young people. The strength and inspiration of our youngest leaders are critical engines to accelerate the progress of sustainable development and gender equality.

The new strategy for young people for young people and gender equality aims to empower young women and young men as partners in the realization of gender equality and aims to “generate” the youth movement and to “Enyouth” The Women’s Movement.

Relying on the strategic plan of the United Nations, the strategy of youth and gender equality and its “Seap” framework includes three thematic pillars – leadership of young women in all spheres; Economic empowerment and development of the skills of young women; and action on the implementation of violence against young women and girls – and three cross -approaches – participation in research, voice and partnerships with young women and young organizations and networks led by women , with young men as gender equality partners, and with the intergenerational partners
